Disclaimer: I’m not a native Korean nor am I very good at Korean (I’m just level 2 in University T^T) I’m not very confident in this translation because the phrasing was hard to decipher. So there may be a few mistakes ._.
Hello fellow Babys ^__^ I will be going to Seoul in June for 6 weeks and maybe because I have too much time on my hands now that it’s school break, I had an idea of making a letterbook for B.A.P to give to them.
Since B.A.P’s concept is aliens that take over Earth, I plan to make a letterbook based on that concept and have a list of countries that are already “taken over”, that is, a list of countries that B.A.P has fans in.
Compulsory (Must-do)
1. Write a letter to B.A.P as one whole group (do not write to just one member)
2. You can write in English/Korean/Your own native language (Chinese/Portuguese/Spanish etc…)
3. But! You must write at least a small paragraph in your own native language (This is to show the diversity of Babys all over the world ^__^ But if your native language is English or Korean then just leave it as it is hehe)
Optional (Only if you want to)
1. Write to your favourite member or even to all members! (Just make sure that it is separate from the letter to the whole group ^__^)
2. Draw on it (Doodle your bias/bunnies… Let your creativity flow and make your letter look pretty ^^)
3. Include a picture of yourself
How and where to send it to?
▲ There are 3 types of letters you can send.
1) Handwritten letter that is mailed to me via snail mail in it’s original form
2) Handwritten letter that is scanned or photographed then emailed to me (so I will print it out)
3) Typed letter that is emailed to me (so I will print it out)
▲ After you have written your letter, email it to me at cheweehui@gmail.com
▲ Also email me at cheweehui@gmail.com if you intend to send a handwritten letter to me so I can tell you my postal address
▲ Contact me at either @deutschel on Twitter (fastest way to get a response from me), via email or in the comment box below if you have any questions
Deadline for letters to reach me: 16 June 2012
I hope you will participate in this letter book so I have something good to show to B.A.P on behalf of international fans ^__^ Thank you
For foreign Babys to help B.A.P take over the world, or at least the Korean charts hehe ^__^
As you may already know, there are 4 main music shows in the Kpop industry. Mnet’s MCountdown takes place on Thursdays, KBS’ Music Bank on Fridays, MBC’s Music Core on Saturdays and SBS’ Inkigayo on Sundays.
Of these 4 music shows, 3 of them have a charting system for the top songs. Each chart has different percentage of points awarded for different aspects such as Physical Album sales, Digital sales, broadcast viewership and so on… (Well, there’s an unspoken rule of thumb that the last song performed on Music Core is the top song)
So do try to vote for B.A.P so that they can become more popular and well-known ^__^ Our boys are working hard, so Baby’s should work hard too!
From experience with Korean websites, it’s best to use Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. I experience a few difficulties with Firefox some times.
Unfortunately, Music Bank’s voting is only open for Korean Citizens. We can help by streaming on online music sites but that itself calls for another complicated tutorial.
*Foreign fans can’t vote for Take 7. (I use my Korean friend’s account so I wasn’t aware of this. Sorry :() We can still stream on the music sites to increase the digital score though.
My friend and I worked over the past 2 weeks to order specialised cupcakes for Himchan’s birthday cum B.A.P’s comeback project :)
This was a personal project by only the two of us so we were quite worried about whether we were able of executing it but it was a SUCCESS :D All my worries are now gone ^__^
Singaporean female fans’ ‘Profession of Love’ - Older by 12 years and calling B.A.P members ‘Oppa’
A local 30 year-old fan openly “professed” her love for 18 year-old B.A.P member Daehyun. There is a 12 year age gap yet she calls him “Oppa”!
The Korean “Sasaeng fans” phenomenon is on the rampage and SECRET asks them to respect the artistes’ privacy!
The issue of Korean group JYJ’s members under suspicion of hitting fans have brought the issue of “Sasaeng fans” to people’s attention. Sasaeng fans are overly interested in their idol’s private lives and like to stalk their idols.
JYJ expressed their torment over these “sasaeng fans” and up-and-coming Korean girl group SECRET expressed that they had yet to encounter such out-of-control fans when they were in Singapore for a gig.
Leader Hyosung said, “Regarding the recent news about fans’ over adoration of their idols, celebrities have to accept that this is part of the job. However, I hope that fans will not go overboard and respect the privacy of singers.”
SECRET expressed that they do not have such crazy fans, only receiving hand written letters from their fans at most!
SECRET’s juniors, B.A.P said that their strongest impression is of a Singaporean fan!
B.A.P member Daehyun revealed that during a previous programme recording in Korea, there was a segment with overseas fans interaction, and a Singaporean fan girl had an “public display of affection” during then. Even though she was already 30 years old, she asked if she could call the 18 year old Daehyun “Oppa” (older brother in Korean).
B.A.P also revealed another interesting story. Because all 6 of their styles are similar this time, especially with their dyed blonde hair, this caused fans to be confused and unable to differentiate them! One fan had prepared a gift for Himchan but passed it to another member and had even asked for the gift back after she realised her mistake!
Yesterday, SECRET and their juniors B.A.P held a fan meeting at IMM Garden Plaza, performing their popular hit songs live and playing interactive games with their fans!
B.A.P member Youngjae almost stranded in Singapore
B.A.P member Youngjae suspected to have lost his passport!
Youngjae arrived in Singapore the day before and discovered that his passport and wallet were missing, with his important documents and money inside!
He immediately knew the severity of the situation and went to the local police station to make a report with his other members.
However, all was fine and it was discovered to be a false alarm as he found his passport and wallet on the way back to the hotel from the police station.
But if Youngjae had really lost his passport, he could have been in Singapore for a really long stay!
This will be just a brief overview of what took place because I had a few Secretimes ask me about it. It’ll be more details-based since I’ve already spazzed about B.A.P in my previous posts.
Airport Day 120322
Both SECRET and B.A.P arrived on the Korean Air KE643 which was scheduled to arrive at 1345hrs. There were fans lining the walkways already when I reached at 10.30am, however not as much as when BEAST or SISTAR and Boyfriend arrived. Though it’s most likely due to the fact that it was a school day and many fan girls couldn’t make it in time. The fans were mostly orderly and quiet, patiently waiting for SECRET and B.A.P to arrive ^__^
Their flight arrived earlier than scheduled at 1323hrs and they took around another half an hour to come out of the arrival gates. SECRET was the first to come out of the arrival hall and they walked at a leisurely pace, waving and smiling sweetly to fans as they walked past ^^ Jieun looked particularly cheerful and smiled really brightly at everyone. They all got into one van and went off.
Next was B.A.P. The screams for them were much louder due to the largely female crowd and I spotted Zelo’s blonde curly hair at first when they were still walking along the luggage belts area haha. Seriously, I could only identify Zelo the giant ._.
B.A.P also walked at a rather comfortable speed though Yongguk wasn’t holding a camcorder like he did at Incheon Airport. They seemed pretty overwhelmed but happy at the number of fans who welcomed them. Jongup was all smiles too and kept giving small bows/nods in all directions. Then they left in one van too.
Fanmeeting 120323
B.A.P were the first to perform. Before they went up on stage, there was a short video snippet of the members’ names and close-ups played on a small screen display next to the stage as Burn It Up played in the background. Then B.A.P came out to perform their first song of the night, Secret Love.
Then, the emcee took over and asked the members to introduce themselves to the audience. He also told Yongguk to say “Saranghae” >_< I also noticed that Daehyun and Youngjae kept smiling, staring and pointing to some fanboards on the right.
After that, B.A.P went backstage and the emcee chose 6 fans to play the fan game by choosing fanboards that stood out and asking them simple questions.
B.A.P then came out in their black and red get-up for a game of charades.
Himchan and his partner won. And it was time for B.A.P to perform Unbreakable. Really awesome atmosphere and choreography. Man, I wished TSENT would make an MV for this song.
After that amazing performance of Unbreakable, B.A.P went backstage again while the host chose fans for the second game. I do not have a fancam for game 2 because I was one of them :D Anyway, the game was called Heart to Heart but it was basically just answering trivia about B.A.P. Himchan’s team won again (yay me, kekeke).
And the next event was a surprise birthday song for Yongguk! He looked really pleasantly surprised when the admin of BAP_Singapore went up with a cake and the fans started singing Happy Birthday in Korean ^_^
Next up was Warrior, the final B.A.P song of the night.
The stage wasn’t really big enough for them to perform their choreography properly and they had to omit the stomping part of Warrior or else the stage would collapse but everyone was still really high and digging the performance!
Then it was time for B.A.P to leave so they said their goodbyes :( From what I heard, they left the venue immediately after that while SECRET were still performing.
So, it was time for SECRET to take the stage. They kicked things off an energetic number, Magic.
After that, they remained on stage to introduce themselves and were really bright and cheery, waving a lot of times to the audience. Then, it was time for the second song, my favourite SECRET song, Madonna.
Some procedure as with B.A.P, they went backstage while the emcee chose six fans to compete on stage. The game this time was a dance cover battle and I must say, the fans were really good and SECRET looked thorougly impressed with them :)
They also performed Shy Boy but I did not catch a fancam of that :(
It was the charity auction next and the items up for bid were 2 cameras and 2 shirts that SECRET have used. The first successful bid went for 800 and the second, 900. Both were male fans who got to take photos and shake hands with SECRET.
Then it was time for the last two songs of the night, Starlight Moonlight followed by their recent hit, Love Is Move.
After that, SECRET went backstage while the organizers set up the tables for the autograph session. I left during that time because I did not have tickets for the aurograph session.
My lovely dongsaeng @Pingglypuff whom I queued with, befriended then stood with for the B.A.P fanmeet videoed the game I played with Himchan <3 I’m going to store this in my iPhone and Mac forever~ Ah, Himchannie >~<
OMAIGOD!!!!You are so lucky. You get to see and meet them in person. And also you got their autograph stuff. While I was reading the things I was like squealing and I was mad at the same time since I was so jealous! This will probably never happen to me since I live in Canada. Ohh you lucky person!!! >.<
You have to wait patiently. You never know, at the rate Kpop is becoming popular around the world, they may go to Canada one day :D Or save up and go to them in Korea instead ^^
